This is why golfer's need fashion help

Why is it that golfer's seem to feel the need to be loud in what they wear. Have they not been told what matches and what doesn't--haven't their mothers taught them anything. With that said, I think sometimes it is that dad's don't pay attention, take my son for example. Yesterday Zayne and Kyle went golfing with some friends, and somehow Kyle managed to get out of the house dressed the way he was:

I really don't even know where to begin. First, everyone knows that you don't mix plaid with print--not to mention the fact that the colors don't even match. And really, while the Astros are almost in last place and the Cardinals are in first they are going to let him out in the streets of Houston wearing a Pujols shirt. I really think the golf world needs a lesson in what is appropriate and looks nice. The funniest part of all this, when he was asked why he did it his response was to embarrass his dad--yet, he did not want me to post this. But as he dad mentioned last night--if he got posted in dinosaur footsie pajamas, this picture was definitely making it to the Internet.

My First Haircut

We finally got tired of pushing Kamryn's hair out of her eyes so we decided it was time for a "trim". There is a place at the mall that really caters to children so I wanted to take Kamryn there for her first haircut, so off we went. She really was good---since she really didn't move. She really was not sure about the whole experience, she almost look scared. She got her haircut and the lady asked if we wanted her hair fixed, I said sure--this was her first haircut. She then asked if we wanted glitter, again I said sure after all it is her first haircut. Zayne and I thought there would be a little glitter, she just kept pouring. That was Saturday afternoon, I washed her hair 3 times last night, she had a bath tonight and I am still finding glitter. But, it was her first haircut and it was adorable.
Here we go, haircut #1!

Really mom, did we have to do this?

Just a "little" glitter

I am the fairest one of all!

Making Progress

We are slowly making progress, but getting there. Thanks to Jenny we have a new strategy--candy. Most everyone knows how my daughter LOVES M&M's, so that is the new bribe. Jenny suggested that she get one M&M for peeing and 2 for pooping. So now when we are trying to get her to go, I put an M&M on the counter so she can see and tell her she gets it once she goes pee pee like a big girl. So, Kamryn actually got 2 M&M's for breakfast this morning. It was really sweet too, she was so proud of herself--she had such a smile you could tell she was proud of herself. She is also starting to tell her self "good girl" when she goes. She is getting the hang of what is supposed to happen, the problem is knowing when to go. Baby steps though, baby steps--we will get there.

Go Potty, Go

Okay, I know that this will be a shocker to those that know me, but I have little patience. I know, I know I hear all the gasps, but it is true. So after going through 5 pairs of panties in one day--we of course bought more and we bought a video. So, we now have a video to watch and songs to sing. We already started to sing songs while on the potty, mainly to distract and calm Kamryn down. We sing ABC's, we root for the Astros and every once in awhile we get to go through town on a bus. Now we get to add the potty song. With that said, we are gaining progress. Saturday was a challenge, but Sunday got better. We had to run a few errands and she actually did not wet while we were out, we had to check out the bathrooms at the baby store and Target--and of course we were wearing pull ups so there wouldn't be as much of a mess. Of course when I say we had to check them out, that is all we did--no potty action. BUT Monday morning and last night Kamryn earned herself some stickers and again this morning. We may be making progress yet.

Pretty Pretty Princess Panties

Yes, that is what I said panties, and now it begins. About a month ago we got Kamryn a "big girl" potty--it has been more of a toy for her, but we wanted her to get used to it. A few weeks ago they decided to transition her to the next class, so we decided to wait for her to get adjusted and then try the "potty training". Her teacher told me the other day she is showing an interest, so off to the store Kamryn and I go for her first pair of panties. Of course we got some My Little Pony and Disney Princess. We also got pull ups, so we send her to school in a pull up and when she gets home we wear panties. We have had some accidents and meltdowns but this morning was heartbreaking and humorous. She actually went potty in the big girl potty this morning and she cried the whole time. She was so unsure of what was going on it scared her, it was such sad scared tears--but she did it and mommy got so excited about. She even got a sticker just like mommy promised. I know it is just once, but it is SUCH a big step in the right direction. Lets see what happens, will keep posted (if anything to help keep sanity).

WOOO HOOO

Woo Hoo, I did it!!!!!!!!!!! Well, we did it.
As some of you know Zayne has been cooking on this cook-off team. Well the guy he has been cooking with had decided to have his own team with him and his wife, so Zayne and I decided to have our own team, FireDogg Cookers. Another couple of ours cooked with us. This was also the first time I have ever cooked anything for the competitions--I was so excited. Zayne cooked brisket, Denise cooked chicken, Adam & Zayne cooked brisket and I did the open. The open means you can cook anything but the 3 main meats and dessert. So for the past month I have been working on my Tex-Mex cheeseburger recipes, and we have eaten more than our share of hamburgers. So on my first time out I actually placed something--I got to take "the walk". I got 8th place (out of 29 teams). I was so excited--I even screamed!!!! Zayne got 15th on his ribs, Denise got 3rd on chicken and we got 12th on brisket. We also got 9th overall, we were all so excited (and yes I have pictures). Our other friends did very well--3rd in open, 1st in chicken, they placed in the top ten on brisket and ribs, unfortunately I can't remember exactly what (sorry guys). They placed 2nd overall--you rock J&A Catering (Mike & Kathy). It was so exciting-I have pictures below.
My award winning Tex-Mex burgers
Another picture of the burgers--how they were turned in
Me picking up my 8th place award
Chicken awards
Mike (1st place), Jan (2nd place) and Adam getting Denise's 3rd place chicken
Jan actually won 1st place overall too

Adam, Zayne and me picking up our 9th overall award

More pictures will follow later--I have pictures of all items!!!!!!!!!
