Kyle's Football

With the start of the new year, so does football start. If someone would have told me 10 years ago I would look forward to football season I would have thought they were crazy, but I actually do. I am even understanding some of it. Kyle has already had one scrimmage and his first game, and they won. Kyle is a linebacker and then back up quarterback. He loves playing defense, he is apprehensive about quarterback--he is afraid of messing up. But on Tuesday he did pretty good. He even threw the extra point throw into the end zone. He played pretty much the whole game--which is a switch from last year, which is very good. Hopefully we get to play a whole season this year, he missed most of the season last year due to the hurricane and his grades. Below are some pictures, the black jersey is from the scrimmage and the white one is from their first game.

Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day weekend we had another cook-off, one we don't talk about much. This one is what is considered one of the championships, so there are over 100 teams and it is pretty much the best of the best. Zayne was very disappointed--he didn't even make it to the final table on anything. However, my burgers took 14th--I was really psyched!!!!! One of the neatest things about the cook off was the kids que--so Kyle got to do his own cook-off. Kyle competed and so did his friend Austin, who is also the son of our friends Mike and Kathy. They pretty much had to do it all themselves--they could get help starting the fire, but that was it. It was really kind on cool. There are pictures below. I will have to give a huge thank you to GG and GGPa, they not only let us crash at their Hoose B&B for the weekend, they kept Kamryn for the weekend (Nana also came Sat afternoon to help). We had a small get together on Monday afternoon and then it was back to life as we know it. There are pictures below of the kids que and a couple pool pictures of the kids.
Kyle and Austin getting ready to start their cook-off, they were both really excited. We were all pretty excited for them too.

The burgers Kyle turned in for his cook-off (yes, they look familiar--he used my recipe, which really made me proud).

Kyle and Kamryn spending quality brother/sister time together in the pool. I really love these peaceful moments.
