Footsie Pajamas

Okay, Zayne loves those footsie pajamas, even when it started getting warmer he wanted nothing but footsie pajamas for Kamryn. I agree, they are cute and she does look adorable in them, but she is at the age where it was getting hard to find them in her size during the summer. We made it through this summer, but next summer may be more difficult. Zayne said if he could he would wear them, he loves them. Picture below proves.....be careful what you wish for!!

First Day of School

Just a quick update, so much of this blog is about Kamryn that I have to mention big brother. Today is his first day of 7th grade. I will have to post later about how it went!! I also have a funny of Zayne--definitely getting posted later. Not to mention we spent the day at the lake on Saturday. I will update all later--just wanted a quick note right now, just waiting for Kyle to get up and I am going to make him pancakes, kind of a first day of school thing.

Back to school

Yeah, back to school. We went back to school today, with our golden diaper rash cream in tote. Hopefully, we make it the whole day. I think so, she has been having better diapers and her rash is looking better. Now I can get back to a full day of work too!! Kyle starts back on Monday, so summer is just about over :(.

Golden "Bottom" Cream

Okay, I will never complain about the price of Boudreaux's again. This all started Sunday morning. Kamryn woke up with a very lose diaper, not common for her. Well it doesn't get any better for the next couple of days.I called the doctor Tuesday morning and they just put her on a strict diet: bananas, toast, cereal, bread, Pedialyte--all the "yum, yum" stuff, also said to put this powder stuff in her drinks to help. Okay, so that is what we do, and of course she has developed a rash during this--who wouldn't with with all this going on. However, yesterday the rash was so bad she is starting to bleed--this girl what a trooper--still full of giggles and smiles. We had an appointment with her ENT doctor today, so while there I called her doctor to see if she could squeezer her--no prob. Yep, bad rash--so she gave us a prescription and we were on our merry way. We started getting prescriptions years ago at Kroger's--they have all our info why change--so off we go to fill the prescription. Don't have the ingredients, they called CVS--no luck there. We went across the street to Wal-Mart--still no luck. Zayne called the doctor, apparently this diaper rash cream is a compound prescription and we need to go to a compound pharmacy--wouldn't you know the doctor's office has on right there. It is starting to pour and we really don't want to drive back out there--we talked to the pharmacist at Wal-Mart and there is a compound pharmacy in downtown Tomball--well of course. So off we went, we pull into the parking lot and I am not sure if we have Kamryn's insurance card-so I am searching, good found it. We go in and of course they say insurance does not cover compound prescriptions, of course not, silly us. So Zayne and I are thinking, great what is this going to cost us. So we wait and it is finally done. $36, okay now by prescription standards that really is not high, but this is for a tube of diaper rash cream. So, no more complaints about Boudreaux's, I will gladly pay whatever they ask--until it reaches $36!! We also find out our doctor really likes Boudreaux's; however, just isn't going to work for this. She said we should see an improvement by Friday--now if we can get her blow out problem taken care of!!

Fireworks at the Game

I forgot about the fireworks. When the game was over they had fireworks. Kamryn seemed to enjoy them, even though she wasn't real sure what was going on. Fireworks are not the easiest thing to take a picture of; however, below are a couple of my attempts.

Daddy was trying to help Kamryn with the ooohs and aaahs.

Round Rock Express Game

Well, we finally made it to a Round Rock Express game. For those who don't know The Express is the Triple-A minor league team to the Astros. It really was a lot of fun, even though we REALLY lost and it rained. I am also apparently getting blamed for the rain, because this is not the first out of town game I have planned--and it rained. At least on the plus side, this was not as bad as the last one. I will explain: a couple of years ago we went a Cardinals game at Busch Stadium. We are sitting there and the sky is looking awfully dark and gloomy. The game is about to begin and there is all this lightning and wind--for those of us from a coastline, it seemed like a small tropical storm. The winds almost knocked Kyle over. After about an hour of rain and the field crew observing the field, the game finally resumed. Back to Round Rock: when we got there Kyle and Amanda went to the "Fun Zone". They have a little area set up for kids to play, it looked really neat. The temp was rather nice, probably had something to do with the rain--it actually got a little chilly for a little bit. I will post some game pictures:
Here is the "Fun Zone"

J. R. Towles catching, he started the year with The Astros, then got sent back down.

Our cute family, we were actually pretty close to the field.

Aren't I just the cutest, sitting here in my seat!

A Quick Update

Well, I apologize for not updating sooner. It has been a busy week, but I wanted to send a quick update of a few things before we are off for a very "mini" vacation. Yes mini vacation, we are driving to Round Rock in the morning to see a baseball game, we are also going to get to see my sister, Amanda. Round Rock Express is the AAA minor league team for the Astros and we have been talking about going--so here we are finally going. My sister is going to the game with us and my dad is coming along for the ride. Those who know my family, know my father is the heart of all our baseball love. Well the only real thing that happened this week, was Kamryn got bit at school. Yes you all heard correct, she got bit. Skin wasn't broken, but her arm was swollen and here Friday there is still a mark. I guess brother needs to work on that self defense with her already. She handled it like a trooper. It happened right before I got there, so there were still tears and ice being applied--but no pacifier. We are trying to get her off the pacifier, so she really only has it to sleep. So even with the traumatic bite, she calmed down with no pacifier. Yeah Kami C!!!!! Hey, I have to look at the positive in this. Well, we will be taking pictures this weekend and I will let everyone know how it goes! Have a good weekend everyone.

Our Little Dancer

Today we spent the afternoon at Zayne's parents. We had a nice afternoon, and Kamryn was a ham as always and Kyle finally got play cards with the "big people". Kamryn loves to dance, she has some toys that play music and she moves her little hips around and dances. Zayne's parents have a clock that plays a song at the top of every hour. At first Kamryn was not sure about it, by the time she left she was moving to the music. However, the funniest was her dancing to Paw Paw's whistling. Zayne's dad was whistling and at first Kamryn kind of just looked at him. Well then she started dancing and putting her fingers up in the air. When he would stop whistling she would look at him for a minute and then she would put her fingers back in the air. This was her indication, that he may be tired of whistling, she was not tired of dancing. This went on for a little while--it was too cute.

Kamryn's First Toothbrush

Well, one of the things at Kamryn's last check up they mentioned was to start having Kamryn brush her teeth. So, today we got Kamryn her first toothbrush. For the last two days Kyle would tell Kamryn to open her mouth and she would open it real wide and stick her tongue out-not today. We told her to open her mouth, she saw the toothbrush and she wouldn't open up. I finally got her to open up and we brushed her teeth. I then let her try, brother ended up helping out. New task to work on.

Schlitterbahn Picture

Hey, I was even able to post the Schlitterbahn picture. Not the best, but I am working on the scanning.

Storm Edouard

Tropical Depression? Tropical Storm? Hurricane? Not sure what the storm is, just know it is causing me to miss work. We seem to have a bit of a storm coming through, but don't they know it is month end (only my workaholic father would understand this). So I get up this morning, get dressed and get Kamryn ready for school. We load up in the car, yes it was raining-but nothing major. Off to school we go, only to find out when we pull into the parking lot that the school was closed due to weather (just so you know, I was not the only one in the parking lot-so there are other workaholic parents out there). Normally I wouldn't be too upset about this, a day home with the kids; however, this is the first week of the month (busiest for me) and all I can think about is what a day I am going to have tomorrow. Oh well, the kids and I are going to enjoy our day right now. It has basically rained ALL DAY so far, but again--nothing major. I just hope we don't lose power--that would cause for a hot miserable day off. If anything major happens, like downed trees or flooded streets, I will be sure to share pictures. Love to all and stay dry!!!!

Yeah Pictures

Yeah, finally got the pictures to work. Not really sure what the problem was.

What a week

Hey everyone-sorry for such a delay in posts, but what a week we have had. Started with Kamryn's 15 month check-up and shots last Tuesday. She is hitting all her "milestones". The doctor seemed happy with her progress, and then mom asked the question -- "When should we start taking her off the pacifier?". The doctor said at 15 months (did I mention that is how old our sweet angel is now). So, we have started to ween her from the pacifier - she gets it when she sleeps. When Kamryn gets up in the morning she either puts the pacifier in her basket, or gives it to us. She is doing good-wait til she finds out she is about to loose it all together. So after her appointment we had lunch with dad, and then when he got home it was off to vacation. We decided to go to Clear Lake and Galveston for vacation this year. So off to GG and GGPa's we went Tuesday night. GG and GGPa so graciously watched Kamryn on Wed so we could spend the day with Kyle at Schlitterbahn. We really had a lot of fun, by the end of the day we were all missing Kamryn though-even Kyle was saying how much his sister would enjoy that place. Next year she will get her chance. We really thought she was too young - and Zayne and I really thought Kyle needed some alone time with us. We got a picture taken there - I scanned it, see if I can get it on the blog though - nope didn't work. If I can figure out how to do it later I will post. Then Thursday was the big day-----Kamryn's first day at the beach. SHE LOVED IT. Not a fear in the world. We took the ferry over and she wasn't sure at first, but was smiling before long. Then at the beach, she just laughed and played. She would just run into the water, we really had to watch her. I will continue the week later - this is getting kind of long and I want to post the beach pictures. Okay I am having issues with the pictures. I will post this and get the pictures up later. The rest of the week went pretty well, GG and GGPa are great hosts. Kyle played a lot of UNO with them. Kamryn and I found UT UNO cards--so you know Kyle and GG were all over that. It was really nice to just relax and have some time. I had a lot of problems with my tooth, but we even made it through that. A great big thank you to the Hoose B&B!!!!! Now we are back to reality and work-even though there is excitement brewing in the Gulf. we will have to see what happens!! Keep checking and I will work on those pictures.
