Kamryn is 2

Can you believe it, Kamryn is 2 now. It is hard for me to believe, she has grown so much. We got all her test results back and everything is good (yeah!!!). We had her party this past Saturday, it turned out really good. She was so cute, except when it came to singing happy birthday, she seemed to be a little shy. Unfortunately, like normal mom was running around and didn't get many pictures. Jenny got some cute ones that she posted. I will post the ones I got. She was really cute opening her gifts, she carefully opened each one and was so excited. She also wanted to play with each one, she is still learning the concept of opening everything up first. Thank you to everyone who was able to join and we sure did miss those that could not make it.

Doctor, Doctor, Doctor

Yes between Kyle and Kamryn we have seen 3 doctors in the last 12 hours. Last night Kyle had pitching lessons and then was asked to practice with the team. Practice was from 6-8, so I stayed home with Kamryn. I am giving Kamryn a bath and the front door walks in and there is someone walking around the house. I do what everyone does when they think someone has broken into the house, I started yelling hello. Apparently when Kyle went to catch the ball he missed judged and hit his hand. It was swelling up, but EMT dad said lets watch it. Well long story short about 9:00 last night Zayne and Kyle went to the emergency care clinic down the street. Kyle has a fractured hand. Today was Kamryn's scheduled appointments with her ENT doctor and the ped. Her ears look great and the tubes had fallen out of place but were laying there in her ear canal, so the doc took her "little" tool and pulled them out. Kamryn did so good--she had no idea what was coming up. We went across the hall for her 2 year check up. She is on the same curve path she has been on: 25% on height and head and 50% on weight. She is cleared on all foods now, so peanut butter and honey here we come. She seems to be on all her milestones and doing good, doctor said we can even venture potty training since she is starting to talk about it. Then came the tears, they just kept poking poor Kamryn. We got one shot today and found out we are shot clear until 4--YEAH!!!!!!!!! Finally got her calmed down from the shot, and it is time for torture number 2. The last couple of days after bath she has been complaining her pee pee hurts, so because of her history here we go again with the catheter (her absolute favorite). Unfortunately we need to make sure because until we know her "tube" has corrected itself UTI's can lead to kidney infections very quickly. Okay, finally settled down and we even fooled her by going downstairs; however, there is one more prick in store for her. Since she is taking daily antibiotics they need to check her blood, to check the cell count and to make sure she is not becoming anemic. She really was a trooper, she is such a mixture of her mom and dad--she wanted to watch like her dad and then screamed like her mom (mom HATES needles). The good side to all this, she scored a bunch of new stickers today!!!!! She also gets to spend the afternoon home with dad. I talked to Zayne earlier, and unfortunately it hurts for her to pee right now due to the catheter. The doctor will let us know if there are any problems with her blood or urine, otherwise we are good for a year. Yeah!!! Party time on Saturday!!!!!!

Easter Weekend

I know I am a little late posting pictures from our STL trip, been a rough week between the memorial and Zayne getting sick.
Easter weekend was very nice, we spent it up in St. Charles with my dad's family, we also celebrated my grandfather's 80th birthday while we were there (his birthday is actually Thursday). I will try to put commentaries with each picture, you can also check out Jen's for more pics.

Fallen Firefighters

Zayne got to be included in a great honor today; however, it is not an honor you wish to have. This past weekend two firefighters died in the line of duty, they went into a house to make sure no one was trapped and they weren't able to get out. Neither one of us knew either of the guys, one was a captain and one was a rookie; however, it really effected us emotionally. Today was the memorial and thanks to the departments in our surrounding areas Zayne was able to march with the rest of the Houston Firefighters. I wore my firefighter jewelry in honor today and even Kamryn wore her HFD t-shirt to school. Any time something happens to a firefighter I just can't help but think it could be Zayne one day. I want to take this time to thank all of the firefighters, police officers and military who risk their lives in order to make sure the rest of us are safe. I don't think they always get the recognition that they deserve. I would also like to ask everyone to keep the families of Captain James Harlow and Damion Hobbs in their prayers.

National Lampoon's Easter trip

We don't have any pictures of this, even though we were a sight to see, you would think we have never traveled in an airport. It starts by dad dropping us off and the luggage kept coming, kind of like all the clowns out of the Pinto. We get in the door and we can't figure out which way to go, some guy asked Zayne if we got our boarding passes on online, when Zayne said yes the guy directed him to the security check--did he not see ALL the bags we were dragging. And I will have to send out a thank you to my sister-in-law--wheels were worth tht $10 extra dollars. We get over to the ticket check-in and there are three different entrances, why I do not know because once we maze through all of it with all this we all end up at the same place. We finally make it to the ticket counter and she doesn't ask me or Zayne for any ID's, just one for Kamryn, oh and did I mention if I don't have one it was going to be very expensive. So now, I have to dig to the bottom of the nicely packed carry on and find her shot record. Okay, finally made it through that, next security. Again several choices, and of course we made the wrong one. So now we hear hey you, over hear. Security--we now have to unload everything out of the stroller so they can wipe it down with some stuff and put it in some machine to make sure it is not radioactive. Take off everyone's shoes--even Kamryn's, these people obviously have no small children with shoes. We (I) put everything through the machine, so now there goes our boarding passes so we can't leave and now the guy who just sits there staring at a screen screams there is a backup. I know there is a backup it is because I can't get to my stuff due to the fact that I scanned pieces of paper. Okay, finally on our way. Our gate was full, so we went to the next gate down; however, never heard the boarding calls. We finally make it over there and realize they have already boarded A and the families. I go up there to see if we can still family board, I give him the boarding passes thinking we have finally made it. He scans it and says they are no good, I have to go all the way over to check in to get it straightened out. I make it over there and then the gate guy says over the loud speaker, will the lady with the stroller please come back. WTH Apparently he had the wrong screen and there was nothing wrong. Finally on the plane--row 22. We have what was supposed to be a short stop in Oklahoma City to pick up and keep going. Everyone staying got off and they let the rest of us move--we moved up to 8, but that was about as far as we got. We sat on the runway for what seemed forever, the captain kept coming on saying just a little while longer until finally at 7 (which was when we were supposed to land in St. Louis) said we are turning around and will let us deplane until we could get clearance to leave. The wind was apparently too bad to take off. Kamryn is now getting very restless and running out of diapers and mom is starting to get anxious and feel completely out of control. I was glad to get off the plane so I could change her diaper, I had a talk with her and told her we only had one diaper left, so hope we can make it. I went on a search to see if there were any golden airport diapers, but everything was closed. I came back to inform Zayne, well he had a surprise for me. Kamryn was so excited about having a clean diaper, she pooped. Great, we now have to use the last diaper with no idea when we are getting out here. Finally, at about 9 we are heading to our final destination. The flight was quite rocky, but we were in the air. We finally landed in St. Louis, it was definitely not the high 70's weather we left in Houston. We gather the "small" pile of luggage and off to find our ride. This was quite the adventure. We are now here in St. Louis to enjoin all our family adventures, so it was all worth it. But I bet the people around us were just having a hoot. I will post pictures of our weekend next week. Happy Easter to everyone!!

Angela's 1st Birthday

Angela turned one this weekend and we had a little party for her, it was also the first time since Keelan's birthday the three girls were together. They were so cute together, they are so alike but yet so different. Kamryn did good sharing as long as she was in control. She would hand food to Keelan and Angela, but it was chaos if they tried to reach for anything off her plate. We also attempted to get pictures of the 4 kids--not very successful. The good thing is we will all be together for Easter, so we can try again.
That is my big brother!!!!

Why would you think WE were up to something.

Here is the attempted group shot.

Kyle's Birthday Lake Pictures

I know I am really late posting these, but here are pictures from our trip to the lake for Kyle's birthday. Yes, it was March, but it was another cold and rainy weekend.
